A few of my favourite things..

Hi guys, sorry I've been slacking on the blog posts lately I've been super busy as I'm just on the verge of moving house!

Anyway I thought I'd do a quick post on a few of my favourite things that I love apart from fashion and makeup!
I spend most of my time reading magazines, blogging, shopping or doing makeup but often I do like to have a few other things around me that relax me and make me feel more comfortable!

Hope you all enjoy!

1) My first item I love is my green tea! I seriously couldn't live without this stuff! It has great health benefits and makes me feel great! Some people think its really expensive but you can buy it cheap from any major supermarket and its so good for you!

It gets rid of the toxins and chemicals in your body and its great if your on a detox or feeling a bit sluggish!
I tend to have about 2/3 cups a day and recently started having it cold which has been a great alternative when it's been a bit warmer!
It's probably an acquired taste and I didn't really like it when I first tried it but you do get used to it and now I can't live without! ☕

2) my brush belt! I have quite a few brushes and I was getting to be a sort of hoarder but then I brought my brush belt from amazon and fell in love! It holds everything including my tweezers and cotton buds!
I do take it everywhere with me whether it being on a job or when I'm sleeping over at my friends and when I take brushes out to put in my bag during the day they are super easy to find!

3) my tattoo- this is probably my favourite item on my post! It's my only tattoo on my wrist that says 'Paradise' it has a very personal meaning to me. A close friend passed away last August and the main song at her funeral was Coldplay- paradise (available on iTunes) so I thought it would be a nice tattoo.

I don't expect everyone else to like it but i personally wouldn't change it for the world and can't wait to get more soon!

4) my cat- I couldn't do a post like this an not include my cat! I love her and anyone else that owns a cat will know what I'm on about when I say cats are really special! We've had her for about 13 years and I love her with all my heart (soppy right?!)

5) my hot water bottle- ok this may seem a little odd but it's gotten me through some painful nights! Winter nights aren't the same without my hot water bottle!

Without fail almost every night, I boil the kettle and get it ready before I go to bed. I've recently suffered with a bad neck and this has been a lifesaver! Thank you hot water bottle!!

6) my perfume- I go thought phases of different perfumes and I've had many different ones over the past few years but I'm loving Versace at the moment! My mom brought me a set of 5 for my birthday in may and I use it everyday! It's my go to perfume, I keep one in very bag so I always end up changing depending on what I'm wearing and my mood!

I could write this post all day so I thought I'd quit while I'm ahead! I hope you all enjoyed this post as its a little different from my normal posts! I'd love to hear what your favourite things are in the comments below! :) xoxo

MUA Academy vs. Real Techniques brushes!

Morning you beautiful people!

I thought I'd do a brush review post just to switch things up a little bit! I've been a massive fan of brushes for years and I think the basis of any makeup look is a set of good brushes, so it's only natural that I'm always buying and using brushes!

When I first started buying brushes, I first saw a stippling brush at a MAC counter and I really wanted to know what I was for and how to use it so I set out to find a brush just as good and I didn't want to spend a lot of money! So when MUA academy announced they had their own line of brushes coming out then I knew I had to buy! So I brought 2! :p

For £3 each, I really couldn't complain!

When I got it delivered I knew I'd love it! I wanted to try it out right away and I loved it! It leaves my foundation looking great on my skin and buffs it in lovely! If I'm in a rush I can easily use this brush for most things so it saves on brushes! When I finish doing my makeup, I always clean my brushes and set them to dry and I actually thought this brush was going to be really hard to wash because the bristles are quite far apart but I was totally wrong! The product slipped out of the brush and into my hand and was so easy to wash out!
Overall I love this brush and I've got to tell you it's definitely worth £3!!

When I was more familiar with the stippling brush, i set out to find another one just as good and I definitely found one in the form of a real techniques stippling brush and I fell in love!
It was everything I was looking for and more! The packaging was great , the brush itself looked good! I just fell in love. I wanted to try it straight away, so I took my makeup and reapplied it with this brush and I wanted to thank all my gods I brought this brush! It buffs my makeup in so it looks like ive hardly got any foundation on. It was a little more pricey at £13 and In some ways I think it's worth it but others I really don't!

I think it was about the 4th time of me using it and it started to shed! I was gutted! It only happened for a week or so and now it doesn't which I found to be a bit strange!
When I started washing it, I did notice that it was harder to clean, especially if you leave it for longer than a day! It can be a nightmare and I can sometimes spend up to 10 mins washing this one brush!

I'm not totally sure which one i love more because I use them both in different ways! But I will say this: if your looking for a cheap alternative for a stippling brush then go for the MUA academy brush! You really can't go wrong with this brush!

Summer makeup

Good Morning! :)
I definitely woke up in a happy and get going mood today! One of my favourite times of the year is summer so I thought I'd post my summer makeup with all the products I use and how I apply them!

Unless I'm in my house or not planning anything on that day, I'm one of those girls that cant really not wear makeup, I feel bare and too pale without it and feel like I've got to put it on. Even in the summer!
I try to use as little products as possible cause there's nothing worse than spending time putting makeup on just for it to slide off! So below is a list of what I use typically during the summer and how I apply it. Ill also list the brushes I use when I'm applying my makeup and what brush I use for each product. Some people may think there is too many products here but this is my personal choice of makeup, some people might like more and some people may like less, its your own personal preference! :)

Ok so I normally start off with my concealer, I don't like overlaying it in top of my foundation as I feel its too heavy on my skin but its your own personal taste with your own makeup routine. For my summer concealer, I use MAC select cover up in shade NW30, this concealer for me is very sheer but can be buildable to the coverage you would like! I start with this concealer under my eyes in a triangle shape and blend it out. For applying my concealer, I use a Real Techniques pointed foundation brush as it fits right under the eye and can easily be blended.
                                                £12.00

After applying my concealer, I set it with a loose powder, for me if I set it first then it also gives a lighter shade under my eyes which lifts my eyes, I like to highlight and contour my face when doing my makeup, but for the summer I usually stick to completing a flawless face with black liner. When using loose powder it allows me to select right where I need it to go and it doesn't move all day which for me is a big plus! The powder I use is Collection loose powder in shade 2 Translucent, it stays put all day and gives a lighter appearance to under my eyes.
                                                                £3.99

When I've finished applying my concealer and powder, I then apply my foundation. When choosing my foundation for the summer, I always buy a shade darker than my skin tone as I tend to tan in the summer and always want my foundation to match. Sometimes if I cant find my own shade for summer, I mix two foundations together but the shade I brought for summer matches perfectly!
The foundation I'm using for summer is L'Oreal Lumi Magique light infusing foundation in the shade D/W5 Gold sand. It's a really lightweight foundation and glides onto your skin like a dream, its minimal coverage and not really buildable but you can work with it easily! Its a water based foundation so its great for dry skin and I've got combination skin so its works just fine for me. Whenever I apply this product, I don't use too much product as I don't need it, it fits great onto the skin and doesn't feel like I've got anything on!
£9.99

I the move onto my eye makeup, I don't tend to wear a lot of eye makeup but I stick to the same almost every day! I use a gel liner in both my top and bottom water line as ive got quite small eyes and I'll do anything to make them bigger and this definitely works! I use Collection Gel liner in the pot and its one of the best gel liners ive use! I brought it in January and ive still got more than half a pot left and I use it everyday! I use a long pencil brush to apply as I get a lot more control over a pencil brush then an angled brush.
I then use the product that's left over on my brush and push it along my top lash line to enhance my eye size! it definitely works (a little tip right there!) :P

For mascara, Im using Benefit's they're real mascara, I have to say its one of my all time favourite mascara's ever! I only ever have to use one coat of this product and it makes my lashes 100x bigger! my eye lashes are quite small anyway so this mascara is perfect!

Eye Liner- £4.99
Mascara-£16.50

Then then use a blush, I don't normally use too much blush but just enough to make it look natural and MUA Academy blush does the job! One of my favourite blushes! If you want more detail on this blush then see my last post and review on how much I love it!
                                                                       £1

To finish off my make up I use a highlighter! I don't use this everyday but I do like to use it just to highlight my face on a nice and sunny day, it makes me feel that little bit better! This MUA Academy shimmer highlighter is so pigmented I absolutely love it! Its only available in one shade, it suits all skin types including mine! I tend to use it on top of my cheekbones, down the bridge of my nose, under the arch of my brow and just on top of my cupids bow (upper lip). Id definitely recommend this product!
£2

To pull all my makeup together, I use MAC Fix+. I love this product especially during summer! It hydrates your skin and pulls all of your makeup together! It really makes you feel awake and fresh and its really great for summer! It sticks to your face so it doesn't take your makeup off during the day and really does last hours longer! Its a clear spray bottle and actually smells pretty good! Definitely one of my go to products for summer!
£13.50

My favourite products from Avon

Afternoon everyone!
while watching friends on DVD and looking through the latest Avon book, I realised the Avon has some pretty good products! I've used Avon for a good few years now and brought countless items from them as for me, they are great quality products an some at really low prices! I realised that I actually do own quite a few items from Avon so I thought id do a quick post on my favourites. I was going to show my top 5 favourites but as I was picking them out I picked one too many and now I have 6, and even one of those products comes in two colours so ill show those as well!

My top 6 products aren't just makeup but are body lotions, makeup brushes and makeup which I've used and then re-brought or that I would recommend to other people!

Hope you all enjoy! :)

This is my absolute favourite moisturiser at the minute! When it first got delivered I was shocked at how much was in there, 400ml! It smells amazing but that's just my own personal taste, the flavours are almond and cocoa butter and for me, that's the best combination! When it first started using it, I loved it straight away, it settles into your skin so nice and feels so soft and moisturising. I've been using mine after my showing in the morning and then before I go to bed. After about a week I really started feeling a difference and my skin feels s good and it lasts ages! I've had mine for about 6-8 weeks now and I've almost finished! definitely worth a buy!
Cheap as chips at only £3.99!

When I brought this I realised I wasn't actually sure if I was going to use it and what I was going to use it for! So then after about a week of wondering how to wear it, the sun started to come out and I started to use it, and honestly.. I love it! It gives such a good feeling to your body! The bottle says satin sheer dual oil spray and I believe it! A little bit goes a long way with this bottle!
even though I really do like this product I don't think ill buy another bottle just because its not something I an wear everyday as a moisturiser but I would recommend it if your going on holiday or sunning it up with friends!
£4.99

This angled brush is my favourite! I've brought quite a few since building my makeup kit and this has to be one of my personal favourites. Its great with powdered and pressed bronzers as it is a synthetic brush! The bristles are so soft and packed it so nicely that it makes it feel really soft on your skin! It fits into my cheek bone so nicely I barely have to out pressure onto my face! Definitely a must have for your kit! £3.99

Ok so this is in the ColorTrend range of the book which is the slightly cheaper option but I thought id try it anyway because I love a good bargain! When I first got this out of the box I instantly loved the colour and the name! Poppy Love, how cute is that?! Its such a bright pop of red I thought of summer straight away! great for festivals and days out! When I first put it on my lips it gave me a real satin feel to it but dried matt which I loved and it doesn't crack! Bonus! As its a cheaper lipstick I really didn't think it was going to last that long but it lasted a good 4 hours! (yes I counted lol) I love this lipstick so much that the next time I ordered I got 2 more shades!
£1 each

I rave about quite a lot of products but this is one of my all time favourite products ever!! No exaggeration! I first got this liner thinking it was going to be like all the others but I thought id give it a chance and im so glad I did! one of the first things that drew me to this product was that it was a gel liner acting in a pencil shape and its so easy to apply! When I put this on for the first time I didn't even need another coat, this product is so pigmented I couldn't believe it! And it lasts all day! I didn't even need to re-apply during the day, it magic!
£2.99

Last but not least are the colour gel liners. They come in deep glass pots that are so cute! I thought I needed some different coloured liners for my makeup kit and thought these were perfect! They both have a shimmer to them and last ages! When applying them, I noticed that they don't move for a few hours but I did also notice that the blue fades a little faster than the others but I still love this product and ill be buying the black pot soon enough!
£4.99

What's in my bag?

Morning lovely people!

I'm so excited that my blog is now live! I cant wait to get started on all my posts and keep you all up to date with my latest beauty purchases and fashion choices! I've been scanning a few blogs for inspiration on my blogs and found so many interesting posts so I thought I'd start with one of my favourite posts I've seen called 'What's in my bag?' so I've decided that its going to be my first post!

My handbag has to be one of my favourite go-to pieces and completes any outfit, so I'm constantly looking out for new bags to buy! A girls handbag has to be every piece of fashion that holds everything and mine is no different! This morning when I was looking through my bag I found absolutely everything from hair grips to old chewing gum wrappers!
After throwing out the month old receipts and last years Nandos loyalty cards, I actually found a few things I thought I'd lost!

Id say I've got over 20 handbags and this has to be my go to handbag at the minute for whatever in doing! its big enough to hold my water, purse, keys an everything else I seem to throw in!
This shoulder bag is from Select one of my favourite shops for the summer! it was very affordable at only £10 its perfect for holding everything in! It's very comfortable with a faux leather brown and gold detailing padlock and gold rings to hold the handles. The lining is the same shade of brown with a thicker material, with 2 small pockets, its perfect for holding my phone (Iphone) and loose change.
The other side of the bag has a larger pocket with a zip where I keep my aray of lipsticks and glosses!
(see below)

After snapping away with my phone (I like taking pictures!) I remembered that I had a pile of products behind me that needed taking care of, so guess what? They're all listed below!
Ill also post a list below of all the products in my bag, prices and brands so check it out at the end of the blog! :)
